Beatrice Hajjar
Lemaitre

Principal Architect

Béatrice Hajjar Lemaitre was born in Beirut, Lebanon. Béatrice is a citizen of the world. She obtained her architectural degree from Laval University in Quebec and was admitted to the Order of Architects of Quebec in the early 9 0s and tothe Association of Portuguese Architects in 1999.

 

She studied Urban Planning at the Faculty of Architecture at McGill University and specialized in Urban Design at the University of Montreal where she completed her Master's degree in 2000, with the publication of her thesis "Vernacular architecture and Portuguese establishment in Montreal".

For the next 4 years, she was professor of urban architecture at the University of UQAM in Montreal.

 

Her link with Portugal and its culture took her to the Algarve where she settled. As principal architect she was responsible for Urbanism and Architecture projects for several Promoters and notably signed the Keys project, in Quinta do Lago in the Algarve, and co-signed with L.Pacheco Marques the Eco-Resort Cavandela in Alentejo.

 

In 2018, she co-founded ArchitectBHL with Juan Carlos Folla.
